General Care Discussion :: The difference between Fungus and shedding?

I was trying to get my smaller turtle to eat because the bigger one seems to be hogging all the food and i noticed something on the both of them that it kind of looks like it could be fungus but then again i dont know much about turtles so if someone could try to help me figure out which one it is it would be greatly appreciated.

i feel like i am having a difficulty and keeping the water clean as well. i try changing it and making sure the filter is working often but it is just never clean enough. any suggestions?

Is what your talking about a whitish film that seems to be clinging to their skin.. is it visible only in the water? If that's the case then it's normal skin shedding.

What size tank do you have them in? Sometimes the case is that the tank isn't large enough for the load it has to handle and the same goes for the filter which is why we have the recommendations we do. You could also try to feed them in another container which would minimize that waste going into their tank water. How much and how often do you feed them? Overfeeding can also cause water quality issues along with health issues. Just some possible causes

yes that was exactly what i saw.

right now they are in a 10 gallon tank. they eat 2-3 times a day and i try to give them about 5 pellets each if possible

NEITHER! If you keep your turtles' water clean enough with regular water changes & a good filter system, you should never have a problem with fungi.
