I don't know what interpretation of volume you're talking about, but what I was talking about was a tank/container that had the capacity for 100 gallons of water (I don't know if this is an adequate size for your turtles, I'm just using 100 gallons as an example). It wouldn't be filled to the top (they'd escape), perhaps 3/4 full. When you get a tank, look for one that's longer and wider rather than just deep. Having a longer and wider tank allows for a greater "footprint" (horizontal swimming area), which would benefit your turtles more.
