Post Posted: Mon Dec 11, 2006 11:18 pm   A few questions

My turtles have been shedding these past days and i see little bits of see through dead skin floating around the water,is that normal? And can it clog up the filter? And should i do a full water change or completely ignore it.I have only had my turtles for 2 or 3 months so ive never seen them shed until now.Thank you for time :D

skin shedding happens, not extermly often with my turtles, but it does happen. i have a little net and normally net it out when i see it. yes it is normal and no it can't clog the filter (depending on what filter you have). not that big of a deal..good luck!

Very normal.

Also check your water temp. If it is too warm (over 78 degrees), turning it down a degree will help this shedding skin problem.
