diarrhea,he has been "pooping" more than normal.His diet hasnt changed at all.I feed him 4 pellets everyday along with bits of baby carrots and shrimp as a rare treat.The water temp is normal (79 degrees).Is it normal for them to get it? Or should i be worried.Thank you for time.

I have a lot of questions floating around in my head, but I guess I can ask if you can post a picture. I know that sounds gross, but I would feel more comfortable answering if I knew what the poop looked like.

Every now and then their tummies can get a bit upset so that's normal. I will say this: in the past when I have seen "loose" poop come from my turtle it is because her diet was too high in protein. Maybe back off from the protein (no shrimp or other meat), feed him some green lettuce (or other veggies) for a few days & see what happens.

I've had just the opposite. When my turtles were eating more veggies than normal they ended up with loose poop. Was rather messy to say the least.

I dont have a camera,so i should cut down on shrimp? I only feed it to him once a week because he was getting kind of chubby.So i cut down on everything,this morning everything was normal so i guess his stomach was just upset last night.Thanks everyone for your replys!

Yes, the turts can get chubby. Mine is a *classic* example of that. But don't worry, some of that is them getting older too & they do tend to put on a little bit of fat.

Mine only gets shrimp about once or twice a year. There are just so many other foods out there to feed her! Ever since I found this website, there are some times where 2 weeks go by where I don't feed Sheba any pellets at all. During that time, she only gets veggies a little bit daily (a romaine salad leaf or a cooked baby carrot, a spoonful of boiled sweet potate) or maybe a blueberry here or there. It's so funny, sometimes when I go to a restaurant, I save a couple of small steamed veggies for Sheba & take them to her in a takeout box or napkin. She loves it!

You're feeding him baby carrots every day along with his pellets? If so, I'd give them once a week and add some greens to the diet.
