Thanks everyone for your responses.. :)

I know that when I first heard of the forum I read everything I could.. I mean hours and hours of reading .. sound familiar to anyone?? :) Heck took me 2 weeks before I even posted a question.. haha. From what steve has told me, we get a lot more hits on the website than we do the forum (I hope I got that correct.. ) I just figured since I was talking to some of the users I'd find out how you all came to be here.

I know there is a LOT of info and it's hard to make it workable for everyone. We are all so different in how we absorb and gather information.

SpotsMama: I said the exact same thing about the newbies coming in because of the holidays and people giving them as gifts. It usually slows down but sometimes.. phew..

Thanks again everyone :)

I read everything then went to the forum. I read a lot of posts before I posted too. Actually, I started asking questions when Squirt shut his eyes and got sick. I even emailed industrial girl because she lives close to see who her vet was!

I agree with SpotsMama about the confirmation thing. I felt that I needed to explain what was happening to me and Squirt and get real time answers specific to my situation.

I read several books and loads of care sheets before I found this site. I was really frusterated because I found so much conflicting information before I came here. I know that some of turtle keeping can be a subjective ideal, but I also think that the subjectiveness is sometimes a difference between having a turtle that survives, and a turtle that is mentally and physically healthy. I read all of the topics @ redearslider before I even noticed te forum, and I was delighted to find information, and helpful informative people. I must say this is the best souce of information I have found.
