Hey everyone -
I've got a pretty good heater and my water stays between 76-78 F all the time .. but at night when I turn off the light bulb and UVB lamp .. the air in the tank drops to about 70. It's very cool in my room at night, and i usually turn my overhead fan off so that it's not a mass of cold air bearing down on the tank. (the tank is right next to my bed). I'm sure mitch is fine in the heated water .. but will he catch a cold breathing in that cold air all night?
Are there any ways to keep the air temp in the tank a little warmer at night? I suppose in nature the air cools as well, but I'm not sure if they need it warmed up or not in captivity. i'd hate to have to leave a light on to keep the temp up, since i like to maintain a sort of usual day/night cycle.
Any ideas?
