what can take calcium off of a tank without hurting or killing my turtle? because i got a used tank and its pretty nasty with it.

White vinegar and water and scraping (elbow grease). If the tank is really nasty, you might want to clean it first and then disinfect it with a bleach and water solution. I've disinfected tanks by using two ounces of bleach to a gallon of water. Rinse well (multiple times) and let it air dry 24 hours/overnight. I've never had a problem doing this.
