I know this will be a pain in the butt, but it's better if you can answer these questions first. The answers to these questions can help us figure out why he's not eating

How big is your turtle?
How long have you had it?

What is the water temperature?
Are you using a water heater?
How much water is in there?
Are you using a water conditioner?
Are you using any filtration?

What is the basking temperature?
Is there a basking light?
Is there a basking platform that is easy to climb on?
What kind is it or what is it made out of?
Is there a UVB light?

What have you been trying to feed it?
When was the last time your turtle ate?

How big is the tank/pond/enclosure?
Is the tank near a window?
Is the tank in a room with a lot of activity?

Have you read the Basic Care section?
Have you searched the forums for similar situations?

Is there any other unusual activity/symptoms?

a 2 gallon tank? for every inch of each turtle you should have atleast 10 gallons of water which means at this point no less then a 20 gallon tank but these little ones grow fast so the bigger the better. have you tried feeding pellets? sometimes it can be hard to get RESs to eat veggies, so lettuce may not be the best thing to try to start him off on!

it could be depressed, or starving because it can't eat its food. i made the mistake of listening to the idiot caresheet from the lady who sold it to me, too, and i'm glad i found this place! (you too!) cuz now i can be sure i give my turtles what they need to keep them healthy....

these are what this site has taught me, and it should help :)

red ear sliders are aquatic turtles, they spend most of their lives in water (even sleep in water) so the more the better. water helps them with various survival traits too: they gain strength in their arms and legs by paddling with their feet to break the water's surface. my little ones are strong enough to shove my finger away! also, as aquatic turtles they lack in salivary glands. that means they need to drag their food into the water to be able to eat it. so those liters of water most likely isn't even enough for them to put their heads in very well, right? like many people here told me when i first got mine: give them more water, they will love you for it! :)

hope that helps!
