General Care Discussion :: big turtle small turtle

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

I've been taking care of a turtle for a friend ,but he is now ready to take it back. He was worried that the turtle might get lonely so he got another one.The turtle i have been taking care of is about silver dollar coin size, the size of the turtle he just got is Kennedy 50 cent size. Is there any problem with the bigger turtle being aggresive towards the smaller one? Is there a possibility that the bigger one won't let the smaller one eat?Are there any other problems that I might not know about?

Well if the turtle sizes are significant (eg. 1-2 inches bigger), then there is an increased chance of aggression.

However, it all really depends on the turtle's personality, which we cannot tell when we buy them, some will fight everything that moves in the tank, even turtles 3x larger than them, while others co-exist peacefully with tankmates smaller or larger.

Turtles for the most part are solitary creatures, and there is a good chance anyways that they will fight each other (it's a strong instinct in them), even if they don't when they're little, they may suddenly start sometime in adulthood years later. The chances of a turtle being aggressive surely outweighs the chances of finding a passive turtle. It is strongly recommended that you only keep one turtle, otherwise, keep in mind to separate multiple turtles if fighting occurs, it may lead to serious injury or death if not dealt with properly.
Hey hey hey.
