Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

The "seams" along the bottom of my turtle's shell has started to turn a light pink color.

I'm not sure if it is new growth from being in a bigger tank or if something is actually wrong.

Also, it's almost been a year since I've had my turtle and she's about 4 1/2 inches long. Should I start feeding it every other day?

My RES will sometimes show a little pinkish color on the plastron. You might want to consider adding more variety and less protein (pellets) in the diet at this point.

My kids get pink tinged sometimes after I feed them shrimp. It usually goes away after a little while.

I give it two dried shrimp (pellet sized) a day.

I'll cut them out and start feeding it lettuce again.

To me the pink looks like the result of growing a little too fast.
