my turtles are ALWAYS digging in the rivver rocks its driving me nuts. they wake me up all the time. Why are they doing this?

Prolly 'cause they are bored. Turtles love to dig around in stuff & re-arrange their tank.

aeryn likes to do that, too. john just jumped on the bandwagon last week. it seems to be their idea of hijinx ;)

Spot does it too. He knocks things over too. I think maybe he's trying to bury himself but of course it doesn't work.

They dig in the dark?

My RES spends a lot of time pushing/moving his rocks around. Because he's in a stock tank, though, the sound it somewhat muffled. It sometimes sounds like he's got a game of marbles going on in the tank. :)
