Slowpoke had his vet visit yesterday, everything's looking good. His skin already looks better, and he shed the cracked scute, so we could get a good look at it without icky stuff down in there, and it's not very deep. The vet said it's fine and it'll just take time to heal from the bottom up. He said otherwise his shell looks great. He gave me meds for the RI, same deal as with Napoleon, but Slowpoke's skin was so much easier to put the needle in, Napoleon I really had to push hard. Hopefully it'll continue to be so easy, less stress on everyone. So he'll get those for 7 days and hopefully it'll take care of it. He also said that the chubbiness is most likely just fat. He said sometimes it can mean that there's a tumor inside pushing everything out, but he didn't think that was the case since everything else seems so normal. He felt down between his legs and didn't find anything. He said to just continue feeding him a normal diet and just make sure he gets more exercise, which the big tank should accomplish. Here comes the fun part...he weighed him. It turns out that I measured Napoleon wrong at some point, and his SCL is actually 4.5, not 5.5. Slowpoke is 5 inches, so really not that much bigger. Napoleon weighs 255 grams. Slowpoke weighs 316 grams. Huge difference. But it's good to know that otherwise he's doing good, so we'll just deal with the RI and keep an eye on his weight and hopefully everything will be good.

Nice-looking turtle. Aside from the bits of algae on the shell, what is that white stuff? Excess Vitashell (not good to use)?
