What I have is a 8.5"res "speedy"in a 125 gal tank with about 80 to 100 gal of well water that is filtered by a rena xp3 with a water change every two to three weeks including filter I scrub the tankdown during this proses, that has been in the same spot for about 5 yrs the only change is i instailed lexan covers over 80% of the top now that I noticed the temp is more constant with them

problem alge bloom (green) in water, no alge growth on the glass after a week of the water change, water tested good just alge. should I clean tank with somthing or add a algeside or another compound that is turtle safe
could use some help
thanks
Speedy

I don't add any chemicals to the water, I bought a couple of scrubbers to manually scrub the algae when it starts to build up on the wall.

Keeping living plants in the aquarium will help. They consume the nutrients that the algae would otherwise use to grow.

Quite a few people have previously asked about algae on the forum. Why don't you do a search on the term and see what they've tried and recommended.
