You can bump the water temp up to 80 degrees, but your turtle needs anitbiotics to survive. My little guy right now has a respiratory illness, and I've been taking him to the vet, and he still might not make it.

There is NO way you can cure RI at home without antibiotics. Some vets will work with you on a payment plan but you have to call them to find out if they offer that (every vet is different).

I just took my hatchling turt to the vet last week and it only cost me $24 to get him checked out. And the antibiotic shots aren't much more than that...maybe $20 at the most.

My baby turtle just died last week from a very strange unknown illness that the vet couldn't cure (I WISH IT WERE something simple like RI). I would gladly pay $44 to have him back in my life.

Good luck to you.

The vet is the ONLY way, it can survive.

The sooner the better. If it goes on too long you will probably lose him.

Instead of buying that third filter, go to the vets. There is no need for so much filtration, plus you need to do water changes to keep the quality of the water healthy.
good luck.
