Spotsmama, I"m right with you. We adopted both of our dogs as "teenagers." The first was totally trained and wonderful. The second was a hurricane katrina rescue. He was totally NOT trained. Think he was an outdoor dog. You know, I joke around about him being not so smart, but honetly, maybe he suffered a head injury in the hurricane. Of course this only makes him more loveable and sweet. He's always happy
*sigh* I think another nice idea is to adopt older dogs: those who have lived with the family all their lives, and perhaps the owner passed, or after 12 years, a couple had a kid and no longer wanted the dog... that's what I'd like to start, just letting them spend their last days with us, you know? My fiance says no way. Too expensice with the medical bills... and too sad to fall in love for a few years only to say goodbye.
Anyone have tips to convince him otherwise?
