Feeder fish are fine, but..do you realy want to buy a 4$ fish just so that it could get eaten? Not too smart. No..the turtle will eat the fish, sooner or later. Anything you put in the tank, becomes food. Remember that :)

ive kept a small platy with my res and it rubs aganst the res shell and they dont do anything

You could try it. But don't be surprised if you start to see chunks taken out of the betta's long fins in the shape of your turtle's mouth. :lol:
