Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Can anyone help me out on how to make a basking area/nesting area for my female RES? I didn't know until recently that females had to lay their eggs regardless if a male is around. I love my girl and I want her to stay healthy. She is such a sweetheart!!! She will let me do anything to her, she's such a good girl. So if anyone could help me out that would be great.

Steve, I have a basking area made out of pvc pipe, plexiglass and rainguard with a ramp so she can get up and down easily. What I didn't know until recently is that she'll need an area big enough to lay her eggs with dirt and sand. Brooks is 4 and I'd say she's about 7 to 7 1/2 inches from carpace to carpace.
