all the turtles I have are doing great in the turtle sandbox i have them in. Those little buggers tho, they can climb up the sides a good 2 inches out of the water! Little bit of cardboard solved THAT problem quickly. Ill have pictures of them soon!

mybrosteve...
It is good to see the little guys are gettting such great care. Ten more RES hatchlings were rescued from the same spot on Friday, December 29, 2006. There was a significant difference between the turtles that were originally rescued and these little guys. The original group of 196 had been in 43 - 45 degree water for probably 2 - 3 days. Original rescuees immediately recuperated and were EXTREMELY vigorous within an hour of being rescued. This latest group had been in the water for approximately 2 weeks. Three of the ten rescued died within an hour. Another 3 have exhibited problems with controlling their bodies while attempting to swim. The others show signs of lethargy but appear as if they will survive. This brings the total to over 200 and I know there had to be more and can see more at deeper levels that I cannot reach. The original group is doing FANTASTIC... eating, swimming and basking just like their supposed to. It's really cool to see a group of 30 turtles ALL basking at the same time. Well... that's the most recent update and again thanks to all for your advice and interest.

George, I hope you're taking as many pics as you can. I'll be glad to post some of them.

Overall, we're all pretty impressed!

George-- coming to the discussion late but if you are still in need of Reptomin Mini Floating Food Sticks, I would be pleased to head to Petsmart this weekend and buy as much as I can afford and ship them to you. I use these for my adult turt, makes much less of a mess in the pond. The containers are small (.92 oz) so you will need many. If you don't want to post your address, perhaps your work address? Or contact me privatley at tuberwiz@yahoo.com and we can work something out. If nothing else I'll send cash--you have a big job ahead and I would like to support it. Thought of 153 names yet? ;-)

Here's the last thread I saw on the subject. I think there are still plenty left. Want one? Send a message to mybrosteve and he can put you in touch.

I would be something to see that many healthy little turtles at once, wouldn't it.
