Hi,

I'm about to upgrade to a 56 gallon column tank and I was considering what to get for lighting. I currently have a 50 gallon (long) with a UV light canopy top and a seperate heat lamp for basking.

and I was wondering if anyone has used one of them? It would be helpful to have both the UV and heat lamp under one canopy as I could put them on a timer when I'm at work.

WARNING: Do not buy anything from that website! They have been notorious for selling sick and dying baby turtles. This forum won't even allow their name to be mentioned.

A better place to get those bulbs from is here...http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/-/zoo-med-100-watt-powersun-uvb-heat-bulbs/ and they're almost half the price as the other place.

Those bulbs are really good for larger tanks (55gal +) but you need to make sure to set them at least 12" away from the basking area. Also these bulbs can generate a good amount of heat so make sure you check the temperature of the basking area to make sure it doesn't get too hot, and be sure to use a lamp fixture with a ceramic base.

Sorry, had no idea about the aforementioned site. It was the first one to come up when a did a search for dual-lights.
