General Care Discussion :: head bobbing

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

I've noticed that if I stare at my turtle and she is staring back at me while her head is above the surface of the water, she begins to bob her head at me.

Does anyone know if this is a sign of aggression or nervousness or something else?

I think it's just a subtle reaction to your presence. I notice when I talk to Gomiez (yea, I talk to my turtles), she will gently rock back and forth......The other two just look at me like I'm nuts.
