I know this really isn't health realated, but i don't know where to put it, and it is kind of health relaited, but i was thinking about making a turtle newsletter. like a magazine about turtles. i havn't seen anything like this (for turtles) so i was thinking that a lot of turtle owners might like to get one every month. i know i would. so i was wondering what any thought about that. it was just an idea, so i havn't really thought abou tit at all. i was also wondering who would want to get a copie/serscription and or write articials, give info, and just help wit other stuff like that. thanks!

Well, I guess I'll throw in my 2 cents. :? At first I thought it was a really cool idea. And I still do, but then I started wondering what kinds of things would be good to put in it. And the more I thought about it the more I realized that all the things that would make it a great newsletter is already right here on this website. So, if we didn't have RedEarSlider.com and TurtleTalk, I'd be all for it and I would gladly contribute to it. But...it kind of seems redundant to me. That's my personal feeling anyway.

I still think it's a neat idea and if it's something you would really like to do then you should. There are definitely more turtle owners out there that could really use something like that. Even a lot of members here who only stop by once in a long while might like to get an email once in a while with news on updates to the site, or interesting turtle facts, or even hot topics being currently discussed. You could work something out with Steve and coordinate it through him. That would actually be pretty useful and a benefit for the web site as well. :)

Thanks for the feed back. Your right, every thing people need to know is here, and you could esaly find any thing on the net, but there are tons of other turtle people out there.
Who is Steve?
I've seen a bunch more turtle forums like this and i was thinking of joining some, and telling people about it just like this.
But i dont know if it could ever happen, im still in JR high, but most people say i do "adult quality" work, and that im a great news artical writter. But i dont really have the time. but it dies sound like a really fun thing for me.

i had never thought of it like that (collages looking at that stuff). My cousin is really smart and so she must be a good writer, and when i told her about this other bussines idea i had she really wanted to help, so im going to ask her if she wants to do it with me. she doesn't really know that much about turtles but i figured she could join some foums, like this one, or something and do research, and i could tell her what she needs to know and i think she could really do it. but i dont know this might just be another crazy ideaa of mine!

Check your local and state reptile or turtle associations, (http://nytts.org/ for example) and see if they have a newsletter you could work with, or if they would be interested in starting one. Doing it locally would give you a little bit more material to work with; you could attend reptile shows and conventions and report on them, and give information about meetings and events, as well as pictures and stories. What would be neat would be to do articles about the importance of certain aspects of care, like uvb light or proper diet, and get local pet stores to distribute it. I think it's a good idea, but as DavidY said, I think that with more experienced keepers, the things that would be worth writing about would be kind of redundant, but as far as spreading awareness to less informed keepers in your community it could be a great thing.

Well, i live in a really small town, around of a bounch of other really small towns, and i dont know any one who has trutles, so doing it locally wouldn't really work. My cousin said she would help me, so i think i might do it if o know that people would get it. How do i find out about my local or state reptile associations? i didn't know they had those.
