General Care Discussion :: Chong Busts Out!!

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Post Posted: Thu Jun 14, 2007 3:47 pm   Chong Busts Out!!

So I get up this morning and I go feed the turts and I notice Cheech begging but Chong nowhere to be found...

After some looking I find Chong by a bookshelf hiding... I don't know how he got out... but I'm guessing he had to climb on top of Cheech while he was on the dock... He must have dropped like 4 feet! Thank God there's carpet...

I'm thinking about putting the mesh cover back on and maybe cutting a rectangle hole over the dock so it doesn't block the lights...

Stupid Chong... I hope he learned a valuable lesson today!

Here's a link on how to make a 1/2 screen cover:

Scroll down about halfway. If you're the least bit handy, and you have the tools, you should be able to pull it off. :)

On not being handy, I'm not but I made a cover that's almost the same as the one in the link above. Believe me - I am not not not handy but it looks nice and works too. Did I mention that I'm not handy? The main difference was that I had the people at Lowe's cut the molding for me - they will do that for free.

So I'd recommend you give it a try. It will be a good thing for your turtle and you'll feel proud of yourself too. :D

...and I'm not a bit handy.
