yeah Pedialyte is good for kids that are sick because it gives them electrolytes(sp?) I don't know if the absorbit but I'm sure if he is sitting it in some will get in his mouth and he will swallow it.
I have 5 RES, 2 ASN, and 1 DBT

Should I feed him while he's in the Pedialyte?

Gave him the pedialyte, well he's not asleep. I took him out a couple minutes ago his eyes aren't almost shut like before but he won't eat. He's still there with his eyes wide open like before he was sick. When I put him in the water to swim back he didn't. He sank I had to reach in and get him.

Hmmm. doesn't sound encouraging. You should probably keep him in very shallow water so he won't have to spend energy swimming. Repeat the pedialyte soak in a few hours.

I put some tuna inside he took no interest. Since the pedialyte soak he's been opening his eyes for a couple minutes then went back to sleep. I put him in the water to see if he can swim he swam. And he walked a couple steps around the ramp.

Btw the pedialyte temperature is kinda cold at room temperature. Will it affect him in any bad way?

It's better for him to stay kind of water, around 80 or 82 degrees. Can you set the bowl with pedialyte in a larger bowl with some slightly warm water in it? You can keep adding a little more warm water to the bigger bowl as it cools off.

I'm glad he was able to move around some. He sure is a fighter!

I'm soaking him right now. He's sleeping in it and he put one arm out. First I thought he was dead then I tapped the container I put him in and he put it back in.

If you're going to put him in Pedialyte, it would be good to make it a 50/50 mix with water. He won't absorb the nutrients, but he will get some when he drinks. You can also try feeding him something when he's in it.

I'd consider dry tanking him for a while (keeping him out of the water with a light over him for warmth and a towel to burrow under) and periodically taking him out to hydrate in the Pedialyte solution. If you do this, check the temp to make sure the temp in the container he's in is warm enough, but not too warm.

Aw....I'm really sorry to hear this. :( (You're absolutely sure?) I know you really tried to help him, even though the odds were against him (and you with the lack of help you had). At least you tried everything you could. I'm so sorry you lost him.

I'm so sorry. You can take comfort in knowing that you what you could to help. The little ones are very delicate and sometimes they don't make it even when they get the very best vet care.
