my female res is very vicios if i put a frog fish etc she in she will eat it right away but my male deoesnt care. do you think she is being vicous because she is pregnant and is being cautious

I don't think your female is being vicious - she's just aggressive and she likes to eat! I guess from the point of view of a feeder fish, that's vicious, but she's not really being mean.

I believe the normal behaviour of a female that's about to lay eggs is to stop eating. Refresh my memory - when we talking about your female before, how long did you say she is?

This is probably an example of how different turtles have different personalities. Some are very picky eaters and some will eat anything they see. I think also that the females tend to be bigger eaters - perhaps because they grow up to be bigger turtles.

I'd advise that you not feed frogs to your turtles. A lot of frogs and toads have poison in their skin that might make your turtle sick> Feeder fish - rosie red minnows and guppies - are good for turtles and they are very inexpensive too.

It means turtles are hunters by nature, and get excited when there is something to chase, for food.... but really i wouldn't give frogs to your turtle.

Nope. Turtles will try to eat anything that they can see.
