Sounds like they're chowing down on it. :) The color can vary depending on what they've eaten. Pellets can make it dark brown. When my turtles were hatchlings, the poop appeared to be almost strung together like beads. Now it looks like small sausages. My RES, my largest turtle, sometimes poops them the size of a newborn's finger. (What a topic, lol)
