How big is the new tank going to be and how long is it going to be until then? If anything be prepared to seperate them in case something bad happens. For example, I have a male and female too, about a week ago my male got his penis bitten by my female, there was blood everywhere and he was lucky to have gotten away with a minor injury on his penis the vet said, all he got was an antibiotic and a new tank, right now he is in a 20 gallon rubbermaid but soon will be housed in a 60 gallon like his sister. I think giving them the proper space helps in lowering aggression and etc, but it doesnt prevent it from happening. Even if it is not aggression it can piss your female off and cause her to snap at him! I mean, wouldnt you get angry and frustrated if some guy or girl kept insisting on something you didnt want to do? Not trying to alarm you, I mean..a lot of people keep multiple turtles in the same tank with no problems, but things like what I mentioned above can happen, so I just want you to keep an eye out.

In the event that she does get pregnant though, provide her with a nesting box and destroy the eggs as soon as she lays them, and in the event that they start fighting, be prepared to seperate them. On the meanwhile, keep a close eye on them and higher the water level if you havent already, but keep a close eye out so that they cant escape!

Hope this helped.

The same thing has been going on with Beaker and B.D. for about three months now with no signs of aggression. Of course, they are still pretty young, so things could change.....I'd keep an eye on them. If they start fighting, you may have to seperate them.

We are planning to move them in a 70 gal tank by August.I will keep a close eye on them

One question if she does happen to lay eggs how would you destroy them?

First get a frying pan. Chop up some green onion, ham, maybe some tomato.....
kidding... just toss them in the garbage if you don't want more turtles. Or toss them in your compost bin.

my turtles are going through it too. spike baffs him in the face occasionally if he's in her way, but that's the only sign of violence I have seen yet.
