Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

The ESU branded UV lights are not generally well regarded and coiled UVB lights are also called compact fluorescents. I would also stop using only a ceramic heater if the fluorescent bulb is the only thing lighting your tank.

Hopefully your turtle's eyes will be fully recovered soon. Did your Reptisun come with an instruction leaflet?

Is the tube flourescent a UVB light as well? The coil light you bought (ESU 7%) is a compact flourescent as well, and although it appears to not be as bright as the Reptisun compact flourescent, I've always thought the light was brighter (more white). I've used the regular ESU coil light that gives off 3% UVB and have to say I've never had a problem with it. ESU doesn't have the reputation that Reptisun has, though, and at least one experienced turtle keeper I know of recommends not to use them.

If you can get your turtle outside regularly (several times a week) for some real sunshine, I'd probably use the ESU one over the summer as a supplement and get a really good UVB bulb for the cooler months/winter (a combination mercury vapor bulb if your tank is around 50 gallons or bigger).

That's a lot of flourescent light in the tank with those two bulbs. Can you add a regular incandescent light for heat and stop using the heat emitter, at least during the summer?
