I woke up this morning and was pissed becauase SOMEONE pulled out Tito's water heater plug, to plug in a phone charger -_- (it was my mom)

His water went down to 74

And today he seems lethargicish
Not really swimming that much
Hes basking a lot though
Hes just hiding in the bushes
And his appetite is not like it used to be
Hes not begging, which he always does

OO ijust notices he opened his mouth like he was yawning and then closed it, he did this like 3 times

Should i worry
I just love him so much

74 isn't bad. What was the temp of the water when the heater was plugged in? If the temp dropped by a large amount during the night then that could have stressed him out. Keep an eye on him and bring the temp up to 80 degrees for a few days to help boost his immune system until your sure he's okay. Then you can maintain it at 78 again.

Like david said, 74 aint too bad at all..but dont jump the gun and crank it up to 80 degrees right away, slowly adjust a degree or two at a time so his little body wont get stressed out.

Becareful though, hatchlings are fragile and if he continues to act this way for the next couple of days, then he probably caught something and you will need to take him to a vet.

And you might want to tell your mon not to do that again..

Well, I suppose you know the signs of respiratory infection (RI): breathing with the mouth open or frequent yawning, lethargy, poor appetite, swollen or irritated eyes, difficulty submerging or swimming lopsided, mucus around the mouth or nose. A turtle doesn't have to have all of these symptoms to have RI but if several are present, then you should be concerned.

However, it's too early to say there's anything wrong with your turtle other than that he got a little cool. Keep a close eye on him and if the symptoms persist, even after he's warmed up, then you'll need to call a herp vet.

Can a turtle really get sick in one night?

Not really. But what could happen is that a cold night could worsen a very low grade infection so that suddenly you start noticing symptoms.

Sure, give it some more time. A healthy appetite is a very good sign.

Most likely he's fine. But some baby turtles can be very delicate it seems. Don't worry too much about it but just be alert to the signs of RI.

Aww my little guy ate like a piggy today
But hell never eat any romaine lettuce
I even tried wrapping the pellet in lettuce
But he was to smart
