HELP! Today i noticed that there were brown spots on the bottom of their shells (both of my RES) Is there something wrong? I'm really worried... I do have a UVB and heating lamp for my basking area.

Can you post a picture? Most RES have spots on their plastrons (shell bottoms) and it's completely normal. They can be irregular shaped which may look worrisome but isn't.

hmmm...What do you use as a basking area? Did he always have these?

2 of my turtles out of the 4 have these. and i dont know if they always had those. I have a zoomed basking area. medium. and a UVB light and heating light too.

I don't know but I wouldn't worry about it.

It's normal for RES to develop dark spots/blotches on the plaston as they grow older. It is unique to each turtle, sort of like a finger print.
