Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Post Posted: Wed Oct 10, 2007 9:44 pm   3rd time is a CHARM! Tobi did it AGAIN! PIX PIX

Took about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Dug same as last time. PERFECT hole! Couldnt get as good of pix for some reason. She was lodged in a bit deeper...so I couldnt get in the hole to take the pix so I took the eggs out in the end.

She had 4 more! 14 TOTAL! (In one month) WOW!

She is now...digging on a towel in the living room behind me...lol And has had a BIG worm. :)

Enjoy the pix! Hope this is all of this kind for ummm about a year....lol

My set up for the dark..light, turtle, bucket of towels, cell phone, drink and camera!

After I moved her a sec..dug out eggs, put her back and she continued covering! :) Happy TIRED mommy!

David- Thanks and YES! lol Too productive~

YUP! 14 total for her 1st time laying (well...three times for the 1st laying)

Stra-647- Thank You!

Tobi was so tired when she was done "kneading her legs" after this, she was walking like both legs where stiff and hard. Actually lifting her back shell and walking HIGH..so I grabbed her back legs and rubbed them while she was sitting on the carpet...that seemed to help! She is in tank eating calcium block and "floating" :)

Hehe...she has napped a bit...now she is swimming..floating..eating her calcium block and wanting all her "leftover" food on the bottom of the tank..lol I should just turn off the lights and make her CHILL OUT for the night!

(Yeah I know..should be off by 1:15 am...but OUR days and nights are screwed up! I get up between 1:45pm and 3:00pm, so that is when they wake up; then I turn their lights off about 2:00am and I go to bed about 5 or 6:00 am...) So they get their days worth of sunshine! :)

Thank You Kristin!! I will tell her you said congrats also :) Im thinking she is HAPPY to be DONE today :)

Marisa- ROFL haha Yeah her factory is really open for business...(that sounded too funny) But I hope it is CLOSED for a year for remodeling or something. lol

But really after lastnite and her legs stiffening afterwards....it scared me a bit. She was just walkin with her butt in the air. But I thought crap "her legs are paralyzed"! So after the rub down...she was better ! Thank goodness! So honestly hope the factory is closed down for her sake...

So you think she's done for the year? :D

I certainly hope so - for both your sakes.

You know you and Tobi are providing a lovely case study on egg laying. People are already referencing your threads as good examples.

You can tell her she's done good (again) and she can stop now!

Thanks Spots. And YES ...I think she is DONE for the year...*hopefully*....
And that is really cool about the case study on egg laying. :) I am happy to provide the pix and Tobi is happy to get those eggs out! lol

untsmurf-YES...I have told her. Hopefully she will listen this time! Rebellious turtle!~!! haha

Oh Oh oH and the coolest thing is that Tobi has NEVER eaten GREENS EVER! And since yesterday she has started eating red leaf lettuce!!!!!!! Guess birthin' makes your pallette change or something! lol I have tried to push em down her throat for 4 years and she swims over them, ignored them on the clip, took bites and spit it out...and now she is actually EATING IT!!!!! Im soooo happy! (Just thought I would share that!)
