We're kinda confused is my turtle a boy or a girly? Captain Pockets is 4 years old.. I think it's a girl. When I was taking pictures she wouldn't let me see her tail.. :( But here's her nails! and her tail.. kinda..

I can't see but two of the photos.

How long is she/he? If she's more than 4" long (and she probably is if she's 4 years old) and if the photo I see with the human thumbnail and the turtle nails in it is of the turtle's front foot (not the back), then congratulations, you've got a girl. :D

I can see all the pics fine. I would guess by the short nails and smaller tail that she is female, but I am somewhat new at turtles and not an expert like many here. Just my guess.

How big is she? She looks super tiny for 4 years old. I'm guessing she's a she from the front claws.

More photos may be helpful. The nails indicate a female. The fat tail dicates a male. It is a toss up for me at this point.

If the turtle is four years old (and must have an SCL of more than 4 inches), and there's been no dramatic spiking of the nails and the tail doesn't look like a fat stinger, chances are good you have a female.

Worrdd up! A girl captain! She looks like she's four inches she's about the size of your palm without your fingers. I haven't measured her. I just got her from a friend who couldn't take care of her anymore. So yeah and stuff... :D

Pongo is changing!! She's getting bigger and her claws are getting longer and her cloaca is dropping further down her tail!! We're so confused....

You know what that means - long toenails, fat tail, cloaca away from the body.

Sounds like he's growing up! I couldn't see his tail when the pictures were first posted, but I see it now. And I agree with Marisa - looks rather masculine.
