In three years. Not once. Oh, there is plenty of evidence of his pooping. But I have never seen him in action. And it's not like he goes off someplace private to do it. His turds are always laying there in plain view right in the front of the tank.

How does he do that? Magic?

I think he waits until he knows no one is watching, which is a problem, since his feeding tank (which is also supposed to be his pooping tank) has clear sides. He refuses to poop in that tank. Flat out refuses. We'll leave him in there for an hour, two even, and he will wait until he's back in his home to poop.

Who knew turtles were such private creatures?

Maybe he's shy. I rarely see my turts poop (but I net out a lot of it). Their tanks are on the floor, and when I'm standing over them the act really isn't noticeable.

It really happens quick. ....If you want to watch, look for it during/shortly after feeding. That is when they poop most.

I also do the same thing, never seen my turtles poop but still net out a lot of their poops.. hu hu hu.. But for my babies, I feed them in separate container, right away after finish their pellets then they poop. I can see the stool. Even after water change also turtles likes to poo.

The only time I have ever seen Tank poop is when he gets scared or mad. That happens when I am cleaning his shell, usually.

There aren't ever whole turds floating in the water. Ever. I clean out this stuff that looks like brown dust, so I assume it's disintigrated poop.

But he gets puh-lenty of veggies so there's no reason for him not to poop, lol.


Turtle poop is somewhat funny, lol.

I personally don't want to witness my turtles poop.As long as I see it on the bottom of the tank, that's fine with me.

They don't sit in a spot and poop like dogs, they poop fast while they swim.I've seen turds falling from the turtle to the bottom but not actually seen it coming out the "exit" hatch lol

I've only seen my turtle poop once... and it was a BIG poo! Other than that, I think he poo's then it breaks up... idk.

I also never witness when my turts poo.. always saw the breaks one. But then the one in pic, I got their poop right away after feeding them.. hahaha.. so I scoop the poo as fast as I can. Don't want to dirty the water.

i havent seen poop on the bottom or seen it floating around in a couple days. they are both still eating though. does it just break up and get sucked into the filter?
