I saw my old Vet in action......Here's how she did it:
First she got the loaded syringe in her right hand, then she picked up the turt in her left hand (he hissed and withdrew).
Then she just stood there for a moment or two, waiting for the turt to relax......when he did, she rubbed his upper left paw with the syringe, which caused him to stick his head out and open his mouth in an attempt to bite.
She then stuck the syringe into his mouth and he bit down on it. She then released only a drop or two of the medication, this caused him to release his grip and when he did, she maneuvered the syringe downward (never shoot into the upper jaw, they will not swallow it), and she slowly let it drip into his mouth.
Sounds easy, right? Well I couldn't do it, and I just paid her to finish the treatments........
