I do a % of water change everyweek, I have 2 turtles though I find that I have to change the filter every time I do a water change, I am thinking of getting another filter so I would have 2 going

I do a partial every two weeks and clean the filters every month. I think you have to keep a close eye on the water as turts get bigger. It's never happened to me, but I heard somewhere that not doing at least partial water changes can destroy the filter's Bio. I can't recall why, but I think it had to do with the nitrates.....
