jenaero -- What would be wrong with a red ear slider - question mark - my shift does not work. In a 60 gallon tank, just put 50 gallons of water, heater lights, filter, etc and a couple of sliders and you have got a good set up.

Personally I would go for either the bearded dragon or a snake. I used to have two ball pythons, and they were awesome. They were really fun to watch when you fed them, and of course they would hang out on your shoulders or arm and squeeze you, haha. I didn't let the 6 foot snake do that though, just the 4 foot. Unfortunately the larger one bit my mom once while she was feeding her so we eventually got rid of them both.

Bearded dragons just look awesome, haha.

Haha, yes. The mother had to go. I mean, who goes around sticking their hands in tank of a hungry snake? We got rid of the larger snake (the one that bit) first for obvious reasons, then eventually we got rid of the smaller snake as well because we just didn't pay her any attention and had too many pets.

I really loved my snakes while I had them though. The four foot snake was "mine", her name was Kaa and I got her randomly at a street festival. The second snake we got from a friend, her name was Swaami and she was huge.

I like to ramble about my pets. :)

I just don't want to have to upgrade later is all. I've already got 2 sliders in a 125gal, 2 box turtles, 2 snakes and a rat....all of these guys (except the rat) will need at least one more upgrade at some point.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I think the tank will sit empty for a bit until I decide

I would go with a few leopard geckos, there so cute. Tarantulas require smaller enclosures so a 60gallon would be out for tarantulas. They do well in 10gallon or a bit smaller.
