you know, now that you guys mention it, i think Rolo's been retaining scutes too. she's been in shedding mode for a long time but i haven't noticed anything falling off. the top of her shell is flakey but there is no difference from one time period to the next signaling a loss of scutes. also she has a few layers too. perhaps its time to try a change in veggies. :D and a turtle scrub might help too.

I have a kiddie pool that I've tried Ralph in.
I'm afraid to leave them out there without supervision though. There's lots of predators here, birds, raccoons, cats...
