you can get a thing called a turtlebone. a bit more expensive, but i was told they have no backing. I saw one in a store and swear it had a back to it. Anyone care to prove me wrong?

When they first came out, some said Turtlebone had no hard backing. Perhaps there were a few that didn't, but once in a petstore, I opened every package the store had and they all had it. Turtlebone is really nothing more than cuttlebone packaged for turtles at a higher price.

Lol! I never thought of it that way...
It's not really any different that giving your dog a knucklebone or something...

Plus, us humans eat all kinds of weird stuff on a daily basis: Undeveloped chickens, milk from other animals, plus all the "delicacies". Unless, of course, you're a vegan, in which case you have decided not to eat all that weird stuff

o.o is that what its made of? well then again when your turtle eats live prey that contains bones usually the spine is devoured too lol. i always thought they were lilke processed or something. huh, you learn something new every day

i got the turtlebone, and it had a backing...but it lasts forever.
