Yes, Stay away from goldfish. They are very high in fat, pretty pointless for feeding purposes.

Don't waste your money on tetra's either, They are very sensitive. They can die for seemingly no reason in my experience. Fancy guppies are just plain too expensive to feed to your turtle. at about $2-3 a fish that would add up very quickly for a meal.

Just stick with simple feeder guppies, $.9-.15 a fish, or Rosey Red minnows, $.10-.15 a fish. Cheap and a good treat, pretty hardy too.

ok, thanks for the money saving tip, i dont want to spend 2 dollars a fish! :shock:

so my dad should have gotten the turtle from his friend today, unfortunately I am at my moms on fridays. but i get to go to his house this Saturday, so i will see it tomorrow! :D :D

Because my turtles are on a regular feeding schedule & hadn't had fish in the tank in years, my turtles won't eat the guppies in the tank unless I don't feed them.
