You might also want to give him another place to hide. I have some plastic plants that float below the dock. Tuck can move behind them and hide while he pokes his head above water. Some folks also use the corner soap dishes with suction cups in their tanks. Maybe put one of those in and place tall plants around it for privacy. Maybe if he has some place where he feels protected maybe he will not be as inclined to scoot in behind the filter.

mat012, mine's the same way some of the plant I got is under the dock, and he likes to sleep under there.
