Hey Chris, if that pipe is ABS and not PVC, you might want to take it out. A lot of people feel that ABS plastic is not as safe as PVC considering that they have different applications.

It is ABS...Is the PVC safer?? I just bought it because it was black

As for PVC being safer... some think it is. It is debatable. Considering you're not supposed to use ABS with drinking water, it's tough to argue for it.

Sure. Like I said, it's safety is debatable. If the pipe is potable, then it will probably be safe.

Marks are still there but no other symptoms

Should I do anything for this?

Those do look like scratches.They might be getting scratched from that "hiding place" you put in.

The pipe is gone now and the marks appear to be fading some
