General Care Discussion :: Tank swapping question... need advice.

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

I actually read the thermometers wrong, it was at 70 heh so I went ahead and tossed Niko in. Heres the two pics I were able to snap. I started by putting him/her in the topper then he/she eventually went in the watter and now Niko just seems to be havin fun tryin to figure out [!!!] just happened to him/her lol.

Also, for $55 shipped the Turtle Topper is by far the best thing to use on any 55g or smaller tank. I figure with Nikos new 20g temp tank that I just finished setting up I should be safe for another yr, meaning that I should be ok for another yr before having to worry about buying Nikos permanent acrylic 8) tank which is going to cost me I think last quote $800 shipped.

Also, ty for the compliment caphits... it's a HUGE improvement from Nikos old 10g temp tank which at best had only 7-8g of water in it and this new 20g temp tank is pretty much all but filled to the top ;-p

Here's another pic of the egg crate lid I had to make because of the increased water level.

I L-L-Love Eggcrate for turtle tank lids! If your turtle can push the eggcrate up at all while swimming (plotting an escape) dont be afraid to throw a book or something on top of it.

TRhe way I have it wedged in there Niko wsould have to be a "Ninja Turtle" to get it off lol but he/she seems to be really enjoying the extra swimming space. I'll get a comparison pic up later of old n new temp tanks.

Someone on here once mentioned that her gravid female, I think she was seven inches, was strong enough to lift a fifteen pound book with her head alone. This turtle was the ultimate escape artist, she'd climb the filter and everything.
