VeipaCray, Maybe she wants to play a video game that is actually fun everyone in a while where you get to kill people instead of the very boring RP games where you just walk around a big world for 8 hours...

I think male turtle would be totally on board with killing people in a video game. Male turtle has heard rumors of a game called RES Dead Redemption. Theres this upset turtle character that goes around killing all of the bad turtle keepers. You earn bonus points for killing the ones that don't buy a heater or killing the turtle keepers that put like 19 RES in a 10 gallon tank, you get to unlock a hidden level if you get the moron with a tiny misconfigured filter complaining about cloudy/smelly water, and you earn jello shots if you are smart enough to understand why certain chemicals like water conditioners are hazardous. Some of the levels are hard. You will have to battle the occasional arrogant inexperienced college kid who lives in his parent's basement and can't afford any equipment or the end of level guy that refuses to use the search feature and read anything and he just keeps coming back to be spoonfed... he's really needy, will drain all of your patience, and is hard to kill. It's a cool game and he'd like female turtle to join forces and help him beat the game.

So what should i do? separate them?

Is it dangerous to keep them in the same tank? Can he kill her?

If there is still aggression, then you will need to separate. They can cause serious, crippling injuries (including death) so it is dangerous to keep them together.

Turtles like to bite tails..and if he bites her tail off it could kill her because it will mess up her digestion track if you know what I mean. Maybe look in Craigslist and see if you can find a good deal on a tank. Sucks they couldnt live together :( But she will be much happier in her own tank :)

There still is aggression. He keeps following her and positioning himself in front of her face. She keeps trying to get away.

I don't have a second tank - I guess i'll have to buy one.

Do they live solitude lives? Would they be OK by themselves?

I have a single tortoise who seems very happy - not sure about turtles.

Or - I may just give the male away to someone who wants a turtle.

Will she be fine all by herself without company?

Turtles dont need company. They prefer to be alone. If you give the other away, please make sure they understand how to properly care for the turltle. Make sure they know the 10 gallons of water per inch of shell rule, about the basking area and lights, and filters. There are too many neglected turtles out there :(

We do our best. A little comedic relief with your turtle info. You can't get that on another forum.
