Yesterday my brother told me that she was on the dock. I put a pellet up their and when I came back to check in her it was gone so yea she's starting to get on it more but I still take her outside just to be safe. She seems to try to get on it but swims away when ever she sees someone but she's getting better.

It took a long time for my turtle to stay on the dock when I come into the room. She still won't go up there if I'm around.

But nothing beats real sunshine. Even when your turtle is bold on the dock, continue to go outside occasionally.

I do I heard that they need a lot of vitamin D and we don't have a UVB light and probably won't be able to afford one for a long while. But yea I've seen her get on the dock a couple of times.

Turtle keeping requires some amout of money just as any pet does. You wouldn't buy a dog if you couldn't take care of it would you? Food, shelter, vet visits, preventive medicine etc. Its something to consider.

I know it's just when we got it the lady at the pet store didn't tell us we were going to need all this stuff so when we looked it up we went to go buy a bigger tank some healthy/expensive lettuce turtle food and treats a basking dock and a heating lamp. We were about to buy the filter but the lady at the cash register told us we didn't have anymore money so we're waiting but i don't know how long it'll be because we still have bills to pay. But what I do is I clean out the water everyday. Is that ok?

Compared to what? Generally, there should be no smell on the turtle or tank... if there is then you need to find the cause and deal with it.

She sort of smells like seaweed but it's probably because she has a bit of algae under her scutes.
