Thanks Carol. :) I would say I give her about 25-35 pellets. Is that too much? She kinda looks fat.

Can your turtle pull her limbs in all the way? If she can't, then that is a good indicator that your turtle is overweight. Number of pellets will vary based on the brand that you use, because the size of the pellet varies. Still sounds like it's a lot.

That seems like a lot to me. I had 4" turtles that got 10 pellets every other day. Sometimes I gave them 5 a day but still the same amount just broken down into daily instead of every other day. I'd definately cut back on the amount and at that size you can definitely start feeding every other day. It wouldn't hurt to do a day or 2 with no food while you start feeding veggies. :) That's what I had to do to get mine to eat their veggies. Remember, in the wild turtles don't get to eat the way they do in captivity.

Way too many pellets (I've noticed that some pellets that are billed as being for adult turtles are quite large).

Your turtle still needs a larger tank/container.

Cool, that' s what I used to do when she was young. I guess I' ll go back to feeding her every other day. I' ll try to give her veggies again. Thanks people. :)
