I'm not sure if I used those exact words but I've said something similar about coming up on basking turtles :)

I know when I had my turtles tank on the floor and came up on them they totally freaked out.

I got that expression from a friend at work (a real reptile expert). Back when I was an anxiety-ridden noob, I expressed concern about the fear Bozo had towards me. His reply was "To him, you're just a "Big Head" hovering around his tank. Don't worry, he'll get used to you."
