Yes, their care requirements are similar. I think there are others here who have YBS also. There's a good chance they will mate, if they are attracted to each other. Then you will have hybrid YBS x RES, but you may want to read up on the reproduction section on the website first. There's a lot involved with nesting, egg laying, incubating, raising the hatchlings, and most importantly, finding all the babies a good home. There's way too many of these turtles out there and the sad result is a very large number of these poor babies being abused, neglected or improperly cared for. :(

Those are two beautiful turtles, by the way! :D

thanks :)
well i got a lot of caring people who may want to adopt the babies..
so i think when i am sure my turtles are cosy and happy with their new home then i will read about mating and nesting etc...
they are sleeping head to head so i think their relationship is getting better ;)

hey greek. those are great looking turtles!

i noticed you said that was their basking brick. that's kinda a cool idea, i never thought of a glass brick. you may want to raise it up a little higher though. the pic looks like they are not able to get completely out of the water. It's really important for them to get completely out of the water and completely dry off.

awesome. just make sure they don't try and eat the cotton. mine are quite the omnivores and try to eat everything I put in there at first.
