Oh, ok. I was wondering why it wasn't working for you. Did they give you a new one?

I've never seen my RES swallow their food out of the water before. They have climbed up on their platform to grab a cricket but they always drag it back in the water to swallow.

They CAN EAT(or at least it looks like they are eating, it really isn't eating though, there just tearing it up.) out of water, BUT they CAN'T SWALLOW out of water. They have no saliva.

Edit: Lol David!! Your are always right ahead of me.

In a petstore I once saw a staff person use tongs to give some food to a YBS. It was amazing---the turtle took the food in his mouth and just swallowed it. I've never seen anything like that since. (But I wouldn't try doing that with any of my turtles.)

I was shocked to see Groucho carry the food onto his log, I have never seen him do that before of course he never went a day without his basking light, I think he was just real happy to have it back ,,,,,

go to fluker farms website and click on heating/lighting and it gives detailed instructions on how to install. I too bought one this weekend and no instructions with it but I did find it on the website and was no problem after that.

I just bought one a few weeks ago and had to have my uncle put it together LOL I couldn't figure it out either, I was completely stumped. I thought that they somehow connected to the actual holes in the metal dome... silly me.
