Maybe before you leave you could show the tacher some caresheets or even this site.All I think you can do is hope for the best.I am sure you san come back and vist him

Well you don't know if she'll listen to the care sheets if you never give them to her. So print them off and maybe she'll see what she should be doing for the turtles.
You can always point out that there is a forum also if she has questions, you don't have to say you participate in the forum, just let her know it's there if she needs help.

And I feel like if you present your info in an educated manner, she'll be more receptive to it. Also, you can tell her how your turtles do better with improved habitats.

Whatever care sheets you think someone taking care of turtles should read. You can find them on the website.

The ones regarding lighting, food, and habitat are the main ones. From those sections, you might want to read and pick through the different pages so you can print out the specific information that your teacher needs to care for the turtles. You also might want to print out information about pyramding so that your teacher knows exactly WHY this is not supposed to happen to the turtle.
Although you've told us about the cage, none of us has directly seen the conditions, therefore we can't tell you everything that you need to print out.

Rachel, if you look at the very, very, very top of this page you will see a light green bar and in the middle it says "RES Basic Care". That's the stuff you could print out. They're fact sheets and not in forum form so she might take to the info better. Good for you for taking charge of these poor turtles. As far as the other kids not feeding them, hide the food so only the teacher has access to it.

One way to help keep track of feeding is to measure out each day's pellets in a pill container - one of those plastic ones with separate little bins for each day of the week.

I agree that the teacher should keep the turtle food hidden. It's the only responsible thing to do.

im thining that i feed them only, today i put the food contaner upside down and they dident feed them so i feed them it seems to work

well yesterday when i went into the class room there was cotton or sompthin on the ground i think the turtle had it in his stomach and it finally passed maybe thats y he dident eat alot/at all.
