At night, my little son always sleeps in the water by hanging upright with the aid of a plastic plant under his basking platform (we call this dark corner as his bed ) . I find him terribly cute when he sleeps, especially I'm mad about lovely little bubble on his nose He sometimes falls asleep anywhere in the tank he can hang on, but always in the water. The only exceptions are his siestas on the basking platform .

At day they sleep while basking (out of water) at night in water. When I leave the light on it always snozzes there

My turtle sleeps underwater against the side of the tank holding onto the basking bridge. She also takes naps underwater as well, but opens her eyes when I approach the tank to take a better look.

umm lily sleeps near the heater because its so much warmer and she naps...anywhere xDD

Dolphin sleeps in the corner of his tank in some plant leaves with his nose above water.

Sylar sleeps in the water hanging from a floating log with just his nose sticking out.

Squirt sleeps.... on the sleeping dock I put in his tank.

Pebbles' favorite place to sleep is on top of her filter in the water, but sometimes she will sleep while hanging off of the basking platform with her back feet on top of her hornwort plant.

my turtles sleep under water. they seem to be scared of me. butt hey usually sleep wen the water starts to get cold so i have to get a glass of hot water quick and they go active again. sometimes the bigger 1 basks on the rock with the baby one. they seem happy together and i hope the best for the love couple

Turtles are like people when asking about their sleeping habits. Most of mine sleep on the bottom at night when the light is off. Occasionally they sleep or nap while on their basking platform. In the water is the safest place and they sleep there in the wild. Some sleep on the bottom some try and blend in with their surroundings and some sleep in or behind limbs or twigs to hide from predators.

Toby used to sleep underwater with his nose sticking up the hole in his turtle dock. Since then his head has gotten too big and he can't fit in there anymore! So now he either wedges himself between the side of the tank and the turtle dock with his head puking out, or over top of the heater with just his nose poking out. He's still a wee one, so I don't think he's found what he likes best yet!

Mine sleep primarily in the water. The little guys usually sleep in the plant matter and Ivan usually just sleeps on the bottom of the tank. I have also seen them sleeping when they bask, also my big girl Ivan gets up on her dock in the middle of the night to hang out....but not sure if she goes to sleep up there when she does do this.
