Can't say where...? Ohhh.... Boy that sucks XD Poor thing.......
The one I got stung by was a pink and dark red color. The dome part had a flower shape, the center was pretty long, and the tentacles about between 1 and two feet long, maybe a little more. I figure maybe a lion's mane that just got out of the polyp stage... I tried looking up several images and I couldn't find a match.
There are teeny-tiny clear jellies that hang around there in huge groups, they are non-stinging, and we can seriously hold them in our hands. Cute little things.
Edit: I love that beach. Lotsa wildlife there. Tons of species of crabs and birds, they even have a nesting area on a small island across the sand bridge. Many horseshoe crabs, a lot of which I've had to take away from people who were harassing them. These women flipped one over once, to take pictures, then started kicking it. So, I just walked over, picked it up, and put it back in the water. They started to try to bother one which had buried itself, so I picked up that one and put it in the water too. They were mad, but, they can get over themselves. It's illegal in Connecticut to touch them, so, keep your darn hands to yourself. I know saving them was technically illegal too, but at least I know what the hell I'm doing, they were the stupid ones. Being out in the open like that, if those women flipped it over and left it that way, every freaking bird in that area would've swooped down and mauled it to death.
